Hallel Music LLC · Est. 2007 · Relaunching 2026

A catalog built from tape, not templates.

Hallel Music is the publishing home for a body of work recorded across three decades — original masters, first as reel and cassette, now archived, cleared, and ready for sync. We hold the masters and the publishing, so licensing is simple on both ends.

The Story

Two chapters, nearly twenty years apart.

2007 — FOUNDING

A label, launched into headwinds

Hallel Music launched in 2007 as a small independent Christian label, just as the recession hit and the industry turned from CD distribution toward streaming. Amid that upheaval, and a personal loss, the label was set on the back burner.

2026 — RELAUNCH

Back, and broader than before

Hallel Music relaunches in 2026, now built to carry work across country, dance, Christian, progressive rock, and jazz. Its first artist and single: "Still Blood," from Padgett and Coyote.

The Founder

One drummer's path through decades of stages, studios, and songs — recording and producing his own material continuously since the late 1970s.

GRADE SCHOOL

First chair, first band

Picked up a pair of drumsticks in grade school and never put them down — first chair by senior year of high school, having played in every school band available.

COLLEGE

Country roots

Found country music in college with the Marlin Rice Trio, the start of a career that would move through genre after genre.

COLORADO

Najani, United World & the ski circuit

Crossed paths with John Faris of Zephyr in the Colorado scene and co-founded Najani, a Boulder-based jazz fusion band, for three years. Also co-founded the concept band United World with Ray Laucella, and later the Vernon McMahon band, whose southern rock and pop sets ran the ski-area circuit through Colorado, Wyoming, Arizona, and Kansas.

STUDIO YEARS

Composing & collaborating

Shifted toward composing and recording — a practice that's run continuously ever since, alongside the stage work — taking 3rd place in a national R&B competition, then moving into Gospel and Christian music alongside Richie Furay of Buffalo Springfield and Poco.

NEW JERSEY

Hallel Music, founded

Found a home in houses of worship, founding Hallel Music and Hallel Music Radio — producing artists including Rainy Garay and other emerging talent, and picking up the bass guitar along the way.

IDAHO · 2019

Closer to family

Moved to Idaho to be near family, continuing to play in local houses of worship before returning to his band roots — and, in 2026, to Hallel Music itself.

The Archive

Most of the catalog begins on original tape — home sessions and studio dates going back to the early years of the writer's career. Each reel is digitized, logged, and evaluated for release before it ever reaches a licensor.

01 — SOURCE

Original tape

Reel-to-reel and cassette sessions recorded over decades, transferred and preserved as the master source for every track in the catalog.

02 — CLEARANCE

Rights, tracked

Every song is logged with its writing and performance history, so what's cleared for release and what isn't is always known before a pitch goes out.

03 — CATALOG

Held in-house

Hallel Music holds masters and publishing directly — no outside label or administrator standing between a licensor and a decision.

Working with Hallel Music

A straightforward path from first listen to a signed license — no committee, no outside administrator to wait on.

01

Send a brief

Tell us the project, the scene or spot, and the mood you're after. A genre or reference track helps narrow the search fast.

02

Get options directly

Tracks come back from the catalog itself, matched to the brief — no publisher administrator or sub-licensor in the loop.

03

License in-house

Because Hallel Music holds both the masters and the publishing, terms are agreed and signed directly with the source.
